How it began

What began with a few local guys hanging out at Edgewater Park and Marina—drinking craft beer and eating stone crabs, —was never meant to be complicated. It was the early days of the craft beer movement, when community came first and the picturesque setting did most of the talking. The waterfront, the green space, music, pets and friends—that was the magic: Drinking and eating seafood.
After a bunch of beers and pounds of stone crabs, someone eventually said, “You should make this a festival and do it every year.”
So we did. And it grew. Really big
lots of beer
Over the years, the festival has been fortunate to coincide with some exciting moments in Dunedin’s craft scene. Sweetwater Brewing joined us in the early years as they debuted into the Dunedin market, we saw our neighbors at House of Beer grow in both popularity and creativity and long time cornerstone like Dunedin Brewery set the scene. We welcomed more friends at TBBC as they named Reef Donkey which quickly become a regular on our menus, and during that time, more than a dozen local breweries also opened right in Downtown Dunedin, helping shape the vibrant community we enjoy today.

more green space
Over time, hurricanes and covid reshaped not just the event, but our perspective. They gave us a moment to pause and rethink what we truly wanted this festival to be.
Today, it’s back to its roots. More green space. Fewer vendors.
